UK Treetop Adventures for all ages
Spend a day climbing with us in one of the UK's incredible forest sites. Come and join us for a day or half-day climbing into the canopy of British Forests. CAL have teamed up with the Forestry Commission to offer unique experiences high in the treetops. You will be taught the basics of tree-climbing by experienced CAL staff who will then guide you on your ascent to the canopy. A great introduction to life in the trees!

So what happens on our Canopy Experiences?
When you arrive at one of our fantastic forest sites you will be met by your CAL instructors and given a full health and safety briefing before kitting up for your climb. You will spend the first 2 hours learning the ropes before beginning your ascent into the canopy. You can climb as high as you want and once you've reached a comfortable height just relax and enjoy spending some time enjoying your tree-top picnic! Once you're ready you can begin your abseil to the ground or just hang about and try your hand at moving around within the canopy.
Depending on where you book your experience you may be climbing anything from huge British oaks to towering Giant Redwood trees. Our collaboration with the Forestry Commission means that you have access to some of the best trees and forest sites in the country!
Who will be running the experiences?
Your experience will be run by one of CAL's experienced rainforest canopy instructors. Our staff spend much of their time leading scientists and natural history film-makers high in the treetops of incredible rainforests around the world. They'll be more than happy to tell you their stories of snakes, heat and 300ft trees around the world! Check out the rest of the website to see what your instructors have been up to recently.
Age range
Our canopy experiences are perfect for anyone aged 14 or over and we have no upper age limit. As long as you are medically fit and fill in our medical form you should have no problem. Feel free to contact us if you've got any questions.
