Training

Safety is our overriding concern at all times and all techniques taught are strictly compliant with British Safety Standard 7985:2002 and UK HSE law.

Trees - especially those in tropical forests - are dynamic structures and all climbers are taught to maintain two independent points of attachment at all times.

We have designed and regularly run a TOTALLY unique tiered Canopy Access Proficiency course system: CAP

BCAP: Basic Canopy Access Proficiency
Designed to get you up into the trees safely and teach basic climber rescue.
Syllabus:
1. Personal Protective Equipment operation/safe working parameters
2. Canopy line installation via catapults/crossbows
3 Personal rigging including safe anchor point selection
4. Rope manoeuvres: getting around at height in the canopy
5. Rescue techniques including realistic role-play scenarios
6. Kit maintenance and work at height legislation including risk assessment.

Five days including independent assessment on last day.
Price on enquiry- grants often available.

CAP Support
For non-climbing location ground crew. The UK Health and Safety Executive deem that climbing operations should only be undertaken in the presence of a colleague able to affect the rescue of an incapacitated climber. This support course is designed to teach a non-climber how to get a colleague down without having to leave the ground themselves.
Syllabus:
1. Personal Protective Equipment operation/safe working parameters
2. Canopy line installation via catapults/crossbows
3 Ground-based rigging including safe anchor point selection
4. Rescue techniques including realistic role-play scenarios
6. Kit maintenance and work at height legislation including risk assessment.

Three days including independent assessment on last day.
Price on enquiry - grants often available.

All CAP instructors and climbing techniques have been independently audited by RIG Sytems Limited technical safety and rescue. RIG Sytems also provide us with independent candidate asessment at the end of each UK based CAP course.
