Tree climbing is fast becoming a new sport in it own right. A fantastic way to keep fit and a great way to learn about the natural world. Let CAL take your hobby to the next level by joining us on one of our tropical canopy expeditions.

In 2006 Canopy Access ran two ten day canopy climbing tours to the rainforests of Northern Borneo. Twelve guests joined us for the holiday of a lifetime.

Over the course of each ten day tour guests were taught how to climb high into the beautiful but challenging canopy of the tallest tropical forest on earth, eventually becoming skilled enough to spend a night in hammocks in the tree tops. Waking up at dawn surrounded by mist and watching wild gibbons, orang utans and hornbills from within their own habitat is a truly unique experience that you won't find in any travel agents brochure!

We specialise in taking group bookings. Either private or commercial for that once in a lifetime unbeatable family holiday or for a truly unique corporate activity.

Tour One: 11th to 19th August 2006
Tour Two: 19th to 26th August 2006

The tours are organised around small teams of six persons and based from the comfortable and world respected Danum Valley Field Center research station located within the 43,000 hectare Danum Conservation area. This area contains some of the most pristine, primary lowland dipterocarp forest still to be found in South East Asia.

Home to a phenomenal array of fauna including orang-utan, Bornean gibbon, clouded leopard, Sumatran rhino, sun bear and Bornean elephant. Along with an extrordinary birdlist including the rare endemic Bornean bristlehead and the impressive helmetted and rhinoceros hornbills.

Climbing training is arranged around a flexible itinerary enabling guests to also spend time exploring the forest and looking for wildlife accompanied by experienced guides.
